  • Overview

Neuroendocrine carcinomas (NECs) encompass a heterogeneous group of high-grade malignancies with distinct biological and clinical characteristics based on site of origin. Accurate classification, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment selection are critical to optimizing patient outcomes, particularly as emerging biomarkers and targeted therapies are investigated. Dr. Alexandria May sits down with Dr. Lowell Anthony to discuss key differences between pulmonary and extrapulmonary NECs and to explore recent insights from the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society. Dr. Anthony is the Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology and Co-Director of the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Program at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center in Lexington.
